I made this one thinking about banana leaves, the way they fold and overlap and catch shadow when they fall to the ground. That's the floor of the forest right there.
Batik, made the traditional Javanese way. Indigo, local wax, hand drawn by me. Nothing rushed about it. The dye pools deep in some spots and fades soft in others, kind of like real light coming through leaves.
Framed in an 8 x 10 wood frame, ready to hang. One of a kind, made slow, made by hand. This is what living close to the plants and the process looks like for me.
Each piece is individually unique. There will be slight variation.
